From Scandinavia to Your Door
My name is Debbie Deaver and I am the owner of Daarthe's Bread Pudding LLC. I am also proud to be a Pride of Dakota member and the one who makes the Bread Pudding and Caramel Sauce.
Daarthe's Bread Pudding is a fairly new business that has evolved from selling once a year at the Norsk Hostfest in Minot, ND to being sold year round in numerous businesses in North Dakota. I make it in my own commercial kitchen on our farm and it is available in two sizes: an 8x8 pan and a smaller two serving microwavable container. Both come with Caramel Sauce. I first sold Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce at the Norsk Hostfest in 2010 and it has become a sought after item every year. It has won four awards at the Norsk Hostfest including the very first Chester award which is the prestigious award given at the Hostfest and can only be won once a lifetime. I also fill many orders of Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce during the holidays and have shipped it to numerous states upon customer's requests.
The name Daarthe was my great-grandma's name. She came over to America from Norway in the 1890s. When I needed a Scandinavian name for my booth at the Norsk Hostfest I immediately called my dad and checked the spelling of her name. The first time I wanted to make bread pudding I called my grandma and she told me how to make it. Her mother-in-law, Daarthe, had taught her! I never would have dreamed it would turn into a business!
It is my wish that many more people might enjoy my Bread Pudding with Caramel Sauce so be sure to tell your family and friends about it! Thank you for trying it!
Blessings,
Debbie Deaver
